RCIA is an acronym for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. RCIA is the faith formation process which each parish is asked to follow in preparing adults to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. These three sacraments are called the Sacraments of Initiation because they are sacraments in and through which people become full members of the Catholic community.
WHO PARTICIPATES IN RCIA SESSIONS?
* Adults seeking to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
* Adults from another Christian tradition - Baptists, Methodists, Episcopalians, etc. - who wish to become members of the Catholic Church.
* Adults who were baptized in the Catholic Church as infants and who now wish to receive the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
HOW LONG IS THE PREPARATION PROCESS?
At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, the preparation sessions are held weekly from early September until after Easter.

Sessions are ordinarily held every Thursday evening from 7:00-8:30PM in the Pastoral Center, beginning in Sepember and continuing until May. Sacraments are received at the Easter Vigil.
